We share Christ by showing Christ!
As Church Leaders we have to realize the importance of an authentic revitalized life and faith. First with us and then with others, this "effectual faith" is what we share to those in our care. Our revitalized lives will be the quintessential Christian essence for making His precepts known to others. When we have a revitalized life, we will have the real impacting faith that gives us the confidence and boldness to share it with our congregation and then they are taught and inspired to share this with other people far and near. This all in love, care, kindness, and joy, because we will have something of real worth to share-and that is what Christ has done for us!
Evangelism is a calling, but not the first calling. Building congregations is a calling, but not the first calling. A Christian's first call is to step from the line of Cain into the line of Abel, upon the basis of the shed blood of the Lamb of God; to return to the first commandment to love God, to love the brotherhood, and then to love one's neighbor as himself.- Francis A. Schaeffer, (Genesis in Time and Space)
Sharing Faith is Applying What Christ Has Called Us To Do
Developing an Evangelism Program PI
Stepping out in Faith! As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers; Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

Why most People Stay away from Christ. Have you ever wondered why people do not have the willingness to come to faith in Christ? Why will they not listen to a passionate plea from a loving and caring friend or family member who wants to see them saved? Why would they choose not to see their need for such a fantastic gift from God? Why, after all your efforts and hard adoring work, it seems to have been...
Developing an Evangelism Program PIII
How to Share your Faith! A principle fact we must know before we venture out into evangelizing is this-when you ask someone, "would you like to be a Christian?" you are, in fact, saying, "would you like to be like me?" Are you a good "me"? Are you a person others should strive to be like? Be honest! No, this is not really theologically correct; the reality is we are helping people come to Christ. But, they do not know Christ yet; all they know is you and other Christians!
Are you apprehensive at the prospect of going out to witness? Have you done evangelism with all of your heart and passion with little to no results? Well, so did Paul! Although he had no fear, he did have little results with his own people at times, yet continued to obey God anyway.
Understand the Importance of Prayer!
Prayer is pivotal and essential. Prayer is meant to line us up in His will and with His empowerment. Being faithful in prayer is the essential mechanism for reaching others with the faith. Nothing of value can accrue in you or through you without prayer.
The Tools for Effective Witnessing
We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me. Colossians 1:28-29
Are you afraid to witness? Do you cringe as you approach someone with the Gospel message? Does your stomach begin to turn in agonizing pain to the point that you rationalize that they probably have already heard it and do not need you to say anything, so you walk away in dread?
How to lead a person to Christ
Whatever approach you use, never argue or condemn the other person's beliefs. Focus on God's love for the person, Jesus' death on the cross for our sins, His resurrection, and the person's need to make a commitment to follow Christ. Invite the person to actually pray with you and commit his or her life to Christ.
Becoming a Lighthouse of Prayer
"The most effective evangelism tool ever developed!" Billy Graham "How to Develop a Lighthouse!"
Before we can venture into the "how," we need to ask one key and essential question: Who and what do people see in us? When we share about the Lord to someone, what is that person seeing in us? Our character? Our Fruit? Our personality? Our friendliness? Our love? Our care? Or?
Develop Real, Authentic Relationships!
What is the key to the good, effective witness of Andrew and Philip, or of anyone else? It is prayer and the willingness and ability to develop relationships. It boggles my mind how many Christians I know who have no significant...
There is, perhaps, no better way to introduce the Lordship of Christ to others than to model His character to others. When we are distinctive and interesting, living a life above reproach with love and care to others, we are...
Developing a Program to Make Christ Known
This is the plan to show you step-by-step how to conduct an evangelism program for a church or a para-church. This is what needs to be accomplished before a crusade, before a "revival meeting," then continued so we can be the light in the world. Many of these insights will also apply to personal one-on-one witnessing, too.
More Strategies for Reaching Out
Encourage your church to adopt a community service project such as sponsoring a youth center, developing job training, distributing food, cleaning people's homes, and/or cleaning up neighborhoods, local shops, and...
We are His display! We glorify God when we endure with our faith and character-no matter what we might face or experience. The chief purpose for Christians, above all else, is to glorify God.
Do not know where to start? Then ask questions! There is a classic American party and board game that is fun and addictive. It is great for entertaining groups, and is used in Youth Ministry and Children's programs.
To be an effective witness of our Lord, we need to have a well-prepared testimony, and it needs to be written out. In writing out your testimony, you are seeking to show others who and what Christ is by your example and...
Another Simple Witnessing Idea
Here is a simple way to help people understand the Gospel, which I picked up from Young Life years ago. All you need is a Bible, a piece of paper, and a pen.
Help out and make sure that the person will...
Evangelism Insights and Encouragements
This article contains insights I have learned and collected from over 20 years of evangelism in church and para-church ministry.
Prayer as a Means for Evangelism
Billy Graham calls this approach, "the most effective evangelism tool ever developed!" Your church, even your home can become a "Lighthouse of Prayer" to reach others for Christ.
Have you ever wondered what we are being saved from? This is not a pleasant, happy subject, but, nonetheless, it is extremely important for those whose call it is to help save the lost. We are saved, by Christ, from God's wrath and an eternity in Hell! But, what is Hell?
How to Develop your Walk with God. What does it mean to be a mature Christian leader? What are you willing to do about it?
Sharing Christ is about being real and demonstrating our faith with passion, conviction and sincerity. God's call from Scripture is clear. Evangelism is not about catchy slogans, poster boards, tables, tracts, or formulas (although these can be helpful), and it is definitely not arguments and/or confrontations. Rather, it is helping others see Him by how we treat them and live for Christ. Evangelism is allowing others to picture Jesus in us, not our trying to verbalize without showing Him demonstrated in us first. We cannot just say a few sentences and move on. We have to nurture and demonstrate, and be considerate and loving. It is our lives telling His story that the Spirit uses to win people, not just our mouths. Our mouths are to further explain Him.
We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:20-21
Principle Scriptures on Evangelism: Isaiah 52:7; 60:21; Matthew 10: 5-15; Mark 6:2; John 3:10; 10:16; Romans 3:23; 5:5; 6:23; 10:1-21; 1 Corinthians 9:19-23; 2 Corinthians 5:18-20; Ephesians 1:15-22; 2:15-7; Philippians 2:12; Colossians 1:28-29; 2:14; 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-25; 2 Timothy 3:16
He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:7-8
